Our Story

Velantis (வெலன்டிஸ், pronounced Ve-lun-tis) is built on the idea that skin is more than appearance it is the living boundary between you and the world.

The name reflects this belief. In Dutch, Vel refers to the outer skin or covering the surface that protects and defines. In Tamil, Vel is the divine spear, a symbol of precision, clarity, and protection. The crafted ending antis conveys permanence, suggesting care that endures.

Velantis was founded by Dr. Janani Sree C M (Founder & Consultant Dermatologist) and Anu Murugan (Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer) with one vision: to bridge the growing gap between salon-style treatments and science-backed dermatological care. Too many patients had been misled by commercial clinics and unqualified practitioners. Velantis exists to change that by making expert skin care accessible, structured, and ethical.

Founder & Chief Consultant Dermatologist

Dr. Janani earned her MD in Dermatology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai, an institution renowned for its academic excellence in India. Her extensive training laid the foundation for her deep expertise in dermatological science.

Driven by a commitment to elevating skin health, Dr. Janani established Velantis Dermatology with a clear mission: to provide science-backed, ethical care. At the core of her practice is an unwavering dedication to clinical integrity and fostering long-term skin wellness.

Through Velantis, Dr. Janani Sree C M is dedicated to setting a new standard for how skin is understood, treated, and respected, guiding her patients toward optimal skin health.

Ms Anu Murugan

Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer

With an MBA in Hospitality Management certified by Alagappa University, she brings a unique combination of operational thinking, branding experience, and strategic clarity to the clinic's foundation and day-to-day systems.

Her journey began in the digital space, where she built and managed large-scale content and social media ecosystems, giving her deep insight into how people perceive trust, expertise, and authenticity.

Anu's core strength lies in creating structured systems from scratch — aligning the right people, processes, and outcomes to ensure consistent, high-quality care. She manages branding, operations, execution teams, and patient experience design, ensuring that every detail.
